A judge has slammed a Liverpool landlord for having a 'casual, to the point of indifference' attitude towards fire safety at his properties. Farad Motamedi let out a property in Toxteth, which had a hole in the ceiling that allowed rain water to pour onto a live light fitting in one of the apartments. The tenant contacted Liverpool City Council to raise concerns about the safety of the property. Environmental health officers visited the flat and found she had placed a plastic bag around the fitting to stop it from electrocuting her.
