Plastisol is the world market leader in the manufacture of non-corrosive composite bodies for structural, aircraft firefighting and rescue vehicles. Plastisol has more than 35 years of experience in body and cab manufacturing which enables the company to supply almost every type of body based on the specific needs of the customer. Design and manufacturing facilities are located at Plastisol Composites, NA located in Groton, New York and in the Netherlands. Both Plastisol operations are genuine family companies. Established in 1973, production started with water and foam tanks. In 1985 Rob Walraven, CEO, took over the company from his father with a vision to further specialize into firefighting vehicles and to continue the development of complete bodies, chassis cabs, and crew-cab extensions. After a long personal relationship, Rob Walraven and Alan Saulsbury, partnered in 2006 to open a facility in the United States. Alan Saulsbury's 45 year career in the fire industry brought the experience necessary to immediately address the needs of the US and Canadian fire service. As President of Saulsbury Fire Apparatus, Alan pioneered the 'heavy rescue' with thousands of fire and police apparatus deliveries throughout the US and most major cities. The Saulsbury family has over 100 years of experience in the fire service. This Plastisol partnership now returns the Saulsbury's and several past employees to the fire industry! In addition, the new US manufacturing facility will improve service to the worldwide marketplace.
