President's FY 2011 budget asks cuts for AFG and SAFER

President Obama's budget for fiscal year (FW) 2011, posted on the Office of Management and Budget Web site in February, is requesting $305 million each for the Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER) programs, representing reductions from the FW 2010 appropriated levels of $390 million and $420 million, respectively.
