Aker Arctic ices deal with Estonia

Aker Arctic Technology in Finland has won a newbuilding contract from the Estonian Maritime Administration to design an innovative multipurpose icebreaker. "We signed the contract at the end of last year, with an open tender from Aker Arctic," Andrus Maide, director-general of the administration, tells Fairplay. The ship would enter service for the 2010-11 icebreaking season.The design contract price is close to €6M ($8.8M).
