Odense delivers first Epic ro-ro

Denmark's Odense Steel Shipyard at Undo has delivered the first in a series of ro-ro cargo ships to Epic Shipping of Singapore. The 3,750 lane-mrncapacity Maas Viking is under a long-term charter to AP MotWer-Maersk subsidiary Norfolk Line for Netherlands-UK services. Epic Shipping has ordered five more vessels at the yard, which are being built under licence to a design from Flensburger of Germany and are due for delivery between August 2009 and July 2010. The Epic sextet are of the same type as the DFDS Flower class vessels.
