TELSTRA TO ACQUIRE THE 270 TELSTRA STORES OWNED BY INDEPENDENT LICENSEES OR THE VITA GROUP

In a release to the market today, Telstra wants to add to its 67 Telstra owned and operatedstores by acquiring the 270 stores it doesn't own.While the company states that Telstra Business Technology Centres or T-Partner operatorsare not affected by this change, they'll no doubt be wondering if and when similar actionmight be taken. Meanwhile, partners like JB Hi-Fi and others may wonder what changes arecoming soon, too.As for the 270 stores in question, Telstra reports there are "166branded stores run by independent licensees and a further 104stores operated by Vita Group Limited", and says "the proposalwas included in Telstra’s FY21 Half Year results announced todayat which CEO Andy Penn provided an update on the company’sT22 strategy."
