Review Article: Media Literacy and Public Citizens

摘要

Despite the existence of numerous introductory titles already available in media studies and the sociology of culture, these three recent texts are primarily directed at undergraduate students. They have been written by scholars from different countries (UK, US, Norway) and deal with media studies from various perspectives, disciplines and approaches, namely social history, cultural sociology and media theory. Each one raises fundamental questions about key concepts not only in the sociology of culture, media studies and cultural theory, but also more specifically in the study of public opinion and the public sphere.
