摘要

Walking involves movement, as does cycling or sailing. Or driving in a car. What's special about walking is that you come across things: trees, people, fields, bridges, landscapes. Encounter is perhaps a better word, perhaps weightier, but also in the sense that there is a moment of meeting, perhaps even a moment of stillness, before continuing - passing, but still... A walk also has a rhythm; it involves physical movement, in a cadence of your own, which may sometimes result in a higher plane of consciousness, only to bring you back to the here and now as you notice a particular tree, the crescendo and fading of a sound, a transition in your surroundings, a bend in the path, a puddle you step over. The reviews in this edition of 'scape all have something to do with movement.
