JB: Now that the IABR in Rotterdam has ended for this time round, do you think that it achieved the gdals it set itself? GB: Every time I make a drawing of the 5th IABR the result looks like spaghetti. So I won't take issue with your attempt at simplification. But allow me to point out that the Biennale is much more than an exhibition. It is a network, an agenda, an ongoing discourse, a series of urban meetings, lectures and debates, a summit, a programmatic collaboration with the national public broadcaster VPRO, books, documentaries, concrete urban projects in Sao Paulo, Istanbul and Rotterdam, and more. And yes, the 5th IABR also presents eight exhibitions, most of them in Rotterdam, but also in Almere, Sao Paulo and Istanbul. We produced some, others are the result of collaborations, but all of them add to the main argument.
