摘要

Contemporary education at KU-Life focuses on creative design approaches that are fed by an understanding of the science of landscape evolution. Knowledge of topography, soils, hydrology, climate, plant science and urban ecology form the basis for project work that is creative, spatial and strategic. In addition, issues illuminated by the humanities and social sciences are drawn into project work. As an academic degree course, analysis, knowledge of theory and methods specific to landscape architecture are emphasized. The teaching uses the problem and project-based learning model, a method partly rooted in the beaux arts tradition and one that Denmark is widely acknowledged for using. The aspirations of combining high artistic standards with a knowledge and understanding of materials, processes, construction and cultivation of the landscape have characterized the education throughout the years.
