Coping with the river Rhine: how to plan for its future

The need to rethink the river Rhine as a dynamic element in our society and to cooperate with a view to this across both sectoral responsibilities and political borders - this was the key message of the Rhine Conference 2010 taking place in November 2010 in Bonn. The catchment area of the Rhine involves nine European countries. No wonder then that this message is more of a first approach than a binding agreement.
