Recycling and reuse have established themselves as key elements in the development of a sustainable business policy. These practices enable companies to avoid energy expenditures for mining, transport, processing, and other process steps, while also reducing environmental impacts. However, the economic case for investment in these technologies-the idea that they can be profitable as well-is perhaps less understood. A report released earlier this year by the Northeast Recycling Council (NERC) shows just how "green" recycling can be for businesses.
