MIRA Technology Park set to bid for Transport Catapult

Automotive design and testing consultancy MIRA is to bid to host the Technology Strategy Board's new Transport Systems Catapult Centre on its technology park development in the Midlands. MIRA Technology Park commercial director Terry Spall said that there was "a very strong logic" in siting the new catapult centre, which will co-ordinate technology and innovation between academia and industry, at the site near Nuneaton. "We have the testing facilities here and that's a key element for the new centre," Spall said. "There are already 35 companies on the MIRA site." MIRA has announced the go-ahead for the second major building on its technology park, which has enterprise zone status. The new building at the front of the MIRA site will be primarily an office development. The technology park is seen by MIRA as a potential transport "cluster" where companies in related areas of business work with each other on projects.
