DJB Instruments has launched a new hand-held vibration meter, the VS1, to replace the iconic VT2, which was developed by the company's founder, Don Birchall. The palm sized VSl comes with cables, vibration probe, magnet and worldwide charger. DJB's managing director, Neill Ovenden, says: "The VS1 is half the size of the VT2, has more functionality and we can sell the complete kit at the same price as we sold the VT2, giving customers more for their money." The VS1 offers a range of upgraded features over the VT2 to enable vibration engineers to monitor and analyse a variety of applications and scenarios. Features include storage of up to 100 time stamped data readings; full colour LCD display which can be seen even in bright sunlight; a rechargeable lithium-ion battery; a rubber protective jacket for harsh environments; and an audio output.
