Why the RHS wants every school in the UK to get gardening

Recent research commissioned by the Royal Horticultural Society, the UK's leading gardening charity, says school gardening not only teaches children about the environment, it also boosts development, teaches life skills and makes children healthier and happier. Schools which integrate gardens into the curriculum are developing children who are much more responsive to the challenges of adult life. There is something very special about gardening, that brings together a host of valuable experiences for young people.
