New Echa Service Gets 500 Queries In First Two Days

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has reported that its rapid pre-registration response service has received over 500 questions in the first two days of operation. The service, launched on 17 November, is designed to assist companies still planning to pre-register substances by the 1 December deadline under the registration, evaluation, authorisation, classification and restriction of chemicals (REACH) regulation. About half the questions relate to the online pre-registration system REACH-IT. The Agency points out that answers to some of the questions are already available in the REACH-IT Frequently Asked Questions document on its website.
