The steel industry has come up trumps in the UK this month with a record turn-over reported. Most other materials are said to be on target and the highest trading levels since 2006 have been recorded for paper and wood. These are the October findings from the UK Environment Exchange (t2e), the UK trading floor covering two thirds of the packaging recovery note (PRN) and packaging recovery note for export (PERN) market, in its latest market report. At the end of the month, reports emerged about a slow down in the export market and increases were seen across the lower value markets as buyers, concerned about availability, came in to satisfy requirements.
