The UK has published an end-of-waste quality protocol to clarify when anaerobic digestion of biodegradable waste stops being waste.rnThe protocol, which was notified to the European Commission on 5 March and is on standstill (three-month period for comments or objections) until 8 June, aims to "increase market confidence in the quality of products made from waste" and encourage greater recovery and recycling.
