Commission consults on photovoltaics in WEEE

The European Commission has launched a consultation process regarding the possibility of including photovoltaic panels in the recast of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive as suggested by member states. The Commission's draft revised Directive which contains a list of product categories falling under the WEEE directive does not include photovoltaic panels in the list because no impact assessment has been carried out on the issue.
