Switzerland to ban plastic bags

Switzerland's federal parliament has voted to ban single-use plastic bags, it was announced last week. In a 14 December statement, the Swiss plastics industry association (KVS) said it regretted the decision, especially as arguments against the motion were presented by the federal council (Bundesrat) and an advisory commission.
