France's collection rate for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) was up 5.6 per cent in 2011 compared to 2010, according to French recovery scheme Eco-systemes. Releasing the figures on 14 February, the recovery scheme said the actual collection rate for 2011 represented some 329,000 tonnes of e-waste, or 6.9 kg per capita per year. In addition, for January alone, the collection rate increased by some 5.9 per cent compared to the previous year.
