摘要

A New York City special initiative has produced recommendations for $20 billion in infrastructure investments to protect against the future impacts of climate change, according to Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg (I). The report of the city Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency, announced June 11, included 250 project proposals for protecting the city's 520-mile coastline, building flood resistance, safeguarding infrastructure, and other steps. Bloomberg announced plans for the initiative in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy at a December 2012 meeting of regional planners and environmental advocates some five weeks after the storm (43 ER 3231, 12/14/12).
