Study Finds Fracking Does Not Create Pathways for Gas Migration Into Groundwater

A study of 1,701 water quality analyses from drinking water wells in northeastern Pennsylvania indicates that the use of hydraulic fracturing for natural gas extraction has not created extensive pathways for gas migration into shallow groundwater, according to a research paper published by the National Ground Water Association in the May/ June issue of the journal Groundwater.
