President Obama officially sent the nomination of Gina McCarthy to head the Environmental Protection Agency to the Senate March 8, as she picked up support from a key Republican senator. Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), a longtime critic of EPA who serves on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, which will consider McCarthy's nomination, predicted McCarthy would be confirmed by the full Senate. "I feel kind of the same way about her as I did Lisa Jackson," Inhofe said in an interview March 7, referring to the former agency administrator who resigned Feb.
