Delaware Petitions EPA on Air Violations From Coal-Fired Plant in Pennsylvania

Delaware petitioned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency about air pollution from a coal-fired power plant near York, Pa., calling on the federal agency to find the upwind plant in violation of the Clean Air Act and require the facility to cut back on its emissions. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Controlannounced the move July 8, about a month after Connecticut complained about the same facility. In a letter to the EPA July 7, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary David S. Small asked EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to investigate the emissions from the Brunner Island Steam Electric Station.
