Federal objections against California's draft Clean Water Act discharge permits will remain in place under a federal appeals court decision that dismissed a petition seeking to overturn the EPA's opposition. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled April 12 that it lacked the standing to review a formal objection letter that the Environmental Protection Agency issued in 2014 to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board for the Los Angeles Region (5. Cal. All. of Publicly Owned Treatment Works v. EPA, 2017 BL 119622, 9th Cir., No. 14-74047, 4/12/17).
