Final WEEE consultation

The government has finally published a suite of documents for its "final" consultation on the implementation of the Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2002/96/EC). But while the proposals themselves are practical, many key decisions still have to be taken. The UK and the majority of other Member States are late in implementing the directive. In addition, while the main requirements of the directive are not due to come into effect until 13 August 2005, certain activities must begin from January 2005 onwards.
