Details:Defra has launched a consultation on ProposedrnAmendments to the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005. The Hazardous Waste Regulations set out. requirements for the controlled management of hazardous waste from the point of production to the final point of disposal or recovery. The government is seeking to clarify the intention of certain parts of the regulations. The main change proposed is a widening of the existing exemption from the requirement to notify premises producing hazardous waste to the Environment Agency to all premises that produce less than 500kg (currently 200kg) in a year and estimate that around 72,600 producers of hazardous waste will benefit from this change.
