Corporate social responsibility (CSR) considerations in the pharmaceutical industry usually focus on the need to supply drugs at affordable prices to the developing world. Many of the major pharmaceutical companies are involved in programmes to improve access to medicines in developing countries. According to the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (IFPMA), there are currently more than 50 examples of partnerships between pharmaceutical companies and international bodies worldwide working on drug programmes for the developing world.
