Desalination plant for the Gold Coast

Work is continuing on the Gold Coast desalination plant at Tugun. The $1.12 billion project is being delivered by the Gold Coast Desalination Alliance consisting of John Holland Group, Veolia Water Australia, Sinclair Knight Merz and Cardno. Halcrow and Arup are designing the tunnels and shafts. The client is SureSmartWater, whose joint venture shareholders are the Queensland state government and the Gold Coast City Council.
