Wing commander ross magno joined the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as a radio technician trainee in 1978 following his graduation from Year 12 in Pinjarra, Western Australia. He completed his training in 1979. While working as a radio technician, he studied part-time and completed the Associate Diplomarnof Engineering (Electronics) in 1992 at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He was appointed as an electronics engineer and commissioned to the rank of pilot officer in 1993. He has continued his career as aerospace engineer and was promoted to wing commander at the beginning of this year.rnUnder Magno's leadership as the commanding officer, 25 (City of Perth) Squadron was awarded the Air Force Association Trophy for the most proficient Air Force Reserve unit for 2005 and 2006.
