When supplying the royal australian air force (RAAF) AP-3C Orion aircraft with a Tactical Common Data Link (TCDL) upgrade, the P-3 Accord partners - the federal Department of Defence, BAE Systems Australia and Australian Aerospace - rapidly acquired, integrated, tested and fielded an enhanced data link capability for the aircraft.rnThe partners are part of the P3 Accord Master Agreement, which provides capability upgrades and through-life-support for the RAAF's AP-3C Orion maritime patrol fleet.rnThe new TCDL enables the transmission of live video footage between major systems such as aircraft, ships and deployed ground forces. It enables crews to provide commanders with tactical high-speed full motion video aerial views of their surrounding environments in real time. This has never been achieved by a major Australian defence system to date.
