Engineers Australia's Australian Geo-mechanics Society (AGS) received a high commendation in the Australian Safer Communities Awards last month.rnOrganised by the federal government's Emergency Management Australia division, the awards recognise projects that "promote awareness and management of natural disasters".rnThe society entered its suite of landslide risk management guidelines in the "Projects of national significance" category.rnAGS national chair Neil Benson and landslide taskforce chair Andrew Lev-enthal attended the ceremony at Parliament House in Canberra. They accepted certificates and trophies from the federal attorney-general Robert McClelland.
