Campus' alternate reality

The presence of the University of Western Australia (UWA) in the interactive 3D virtual world of Second Life was officially launched by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Alan Robson on 2 October.rnThe representation of UWA in the virtual reality is the culmination of more than two years of work by manager of the School of Physics Jay Jay Jegathesan and honorary research fellow Dr Chris Thorne. Both worked with a large team comprising undergraduate and postgraduate students, professional and academic staff, private industry leaders, and cross-institutional and international researchers and educators to bring a full UWA presence into the 3D virtual environment.
