When you're a self-confessed "space geek", commuting for almost two hours each day and providing technical support at any time of day is well worth it, when you are working on spacecraft that orbit around the earth approximately one-tenth the distance to the moon.Having already worked with Optus for almost 15 years, Tim Parsley loves his job so much he can imagine doing it for the rest of his life. As a technical specialist for Optus' spacecraft operations, he spends his days firing thrusters and monitoring power and payload systems in Optus' geostationary spacecraft.
