Demand for permanent engineering staff has declined, due to a slowdown in the mining industry, according to the 2013/14 Salary & Employment Forecast from recruitment company Michael Page. Launched earlier this month, the report is based on a market research survey of 1800 employers from different sectors in Australia, as well as market observations from the company's recruitment activities. In the engineering category, 71 employers responded to the survey.
