Freeway widening to boost capacity

An upgrade worth approximately $850 million of CityLink and a section of the Tullamarine Freeway in Melbourne will bolster their capacity by 30% according to the state's premier Denis Napthine. He said the joint government and Transurban project (currently still an in principle agreement) will create 700 jobs, significantly reduce congestion and improve travel times and safety. It is one of several new projects that have been announced in Victoria's 2014-15 State Budget.
