Smooth sailing for suspended hull prototype

West Australian R&D company Nauti-Craft has revealed a prototype of an 8m catamaran with hydraulically suspended hulls. The '2Play' has a patented suspension system that dramatically reduces harsh impacts that lead to injury and fatigue of crew and passengers, making it potentially attractive to the offshore workboat industry. Chris Heyring, Nauti-Craft CEO and founder told Engineers Australia magazine that the system is based on technology developed by the team's previous company, Kinetic, for the automotive industry.
