In the latest of a series of lawsuits filed since the demise of one of the grande dames of engineering and construction firms, former Stone & Webster President and Chairman H. Kerner Smith has charged The Shaw Group and executives with civil conspiracy. Smith's lawsuit, filed Jan. 12 in Middlesex, Mass., Superior Court, is a counterclaim to one filed in November by The Shaw Group. The Baton Rouge, La., company purchased bankrupt Stone & Webster in July.
