Cincinnati Building Costs Match U.S. Average

Building costs in Cincinnati are up 2.1 % over a year ago, according to ENR's July Building Cost Index for the city. That compares to a 2.2% annual increase for the 20-city average BCI. However, the Cincinnati BCI got a bigger boost from material prices than did the national average index. The materials component for the Cincinnati index in July was up 3.6% for the year, compared to a 2.9% increase nationwide. Cement prices in the city were up 9.5% over a year ago, following a 3% gain in 2011.
