Experts Predict Steady Growth in Cement Consumption

The business of concrete is moving in an overall positive direction, paralleling the steady growth in construction. According to the Q3-2013 Construction Outlook from FMI, a leading provider of management consulting and investment banking firm, U.S. construction continues to outpace the gross domestic product, albeit at a slower rate than originally expected for this year. The annual construction put-in-place volume for 2013 will settle around $909.6 billion, thanks in large part to residential growth. FMI analysts report an anticipated $338.2 billion in residential put-in-place construction, including improvements for this year. Not surprisingly, the growth of residential construction in 2013 also drove cement consumption.
