PennDOT's I-79/I-70 Interchange Ramp Leads to Improved Highway

The Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation (PennDOT) is completing a $35.2-million project to reconfigure the I-79/I-70 interchange in Washington, Pa., in the western part of the state. One improvement is a new flyover ramp to eliminate a dangerous hairpin curve and improve traffic flow. Three hydraulic all-terrain (AT) cranes and a hydraulic crawler from ALL Crane Rental of PA supplied the lifting power to build the piers and to set 40 huge beams on the piers to hold the new ramp.
