Transportation funding fared well in the 2018 election, with voters approving 80% of a record 346 state and local ballot measures set to generate $31 billion in new spending, say the Eno Center for Transportation and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. These include rejection of California's Prop. 6 that threatened up to $5 billion a year for state road and rail projects. Construction groups and others spent millions against the anti-tax measure. Battles elsewhere also focused on energy measures, with sides spending $152 million in Nevada and Arizona and eyeing new rounds next year and in 2020.
