AIA Adds Final Documents to Master Agreement and Task Order Offerings Resolution

AIA has introduced a Contractor-Subcontractor Master Agreement and Work Order. Also known as the A421-2018 and A422-2018, respectively, this pairing is for contractors who will hire the same subcontractor on multiple projects, whether for one or several owners. The benefit of this contracting method is executing one agreement with a set of fixed terms that apply to multiple scopes of work. Standard terms in the Master Agreement include claims and disputes, termination, payments and insurance. Provisions that can be customized in the work order are the scope, dates of commencement and substantial completion, subcontract sum and terms that differ from-or are in addition to-those in the Master, such as payments and insurance.
