Emergency Rescue Equipment in Chinese Mine

Putting safety as the top priority,a Chinese mine placed an order for massive water pumps designed to remove large quantities of water in the event of a mine rescue operation. During noncritical operations, the pumps can assist in normal dewatering operations at the mine.The manufacturing of the pumping units was executed within a tight delivery time frame at the ANDRITZ Schwaebisch Gmuend facility in Germany. This required a dedicated staff for the rapid design, manufacturing, production and testing of the pumps and motors. Given the extreme size and challengingoperational conditions, the success of the project was paramount. The pumping equipment was string tested (tested as a complete assembly rather than in parts) and performed by the ANDRITZ team on its in-house testbed.
