Construction starts in the Birmingham metro area are expected to decrease 5.8% in 2O19, to $1.2 billion, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. The residential market will experience a 15.3% drop, while non-residential is expected to decline 9-1%, Dodge says. Construction in the hotel and single-family sectors will see the most significant decreases, while education and heath-care construction are expected to increase.
