To begin with this part covers the rest of the motion components and the reverser. Possibly the most critical bit is the expansion link. I was so pleased with the way the crossheads went together that 1 decided to use a similar method for the expansion links. The diagram shows the three components (two laser cut parts and a turned pin). The working face of the link is slightly rough from the laser cutting and needs to be smoothed with a fine file. Both laser cut parts are case hardened before all three are silver soldered together. I actually made the pin longer than needed (about V4") so that it could be held in the chuck to clean up the join.
