摘要

In this paper, the boundary element method is used to solve the problem of a shallow shell undergoing finite deflections. Four coupled integral equations of the in-plane and transverse displacements are obtained through the use of the weighted residual method. The resulting equations are then linearized and an incremental solution procedure is discussed. Numerical results of the shallow spherical shell are given to demonstrate the computational efficiency of the method.
