Recently, 3-D imaging technology has become more prevalent in medical iatrology and increasingly important in clinical diagnosis. It provides a sequence of images which display internal organs in 3-D form. This simplifies diagnosis and aids therapy. This paper deeply discussed the surface rendering and volume rendering. Based on this, the paper mainly studied the Marching Cubes (MC) surface rendering and proposed a kind of MC 3-D reconstruction arithmetic based on segmentation. In the segmentation, the paper proposed improved region growing arithmetic, which is based on order morphology. The corresponding simulation is done, and the result is shown that the 3-D reconstruction image is clear and visual, and can reflect the image detail of initial data. And improved MC arithmetic used surface tracking to detect cube. This can reduce the detection of useless cube and can reduce the calculation volume of medical image 3-D reconstruction.
