India adopts RFID technology for interoperable toll collection on highways

The Government of India is in the process of implementing an ambitious plan for building India's highway network through various phases of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP). The highways being built are financed largely through user fee (toll) collected from the users of improved highways, which calls for large scale tolling network on them.
